Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the VAT FAQ. If you have a question not addressed here please email us at support@evirx.com

Make sure your file is under 2GB else use the Alternate File uploader for large files (2GB+). Or, if you are using an wireless router it could be dropping the connection (without you noticing it). In this case, try a hardwire connection to your wireless router or other Internet source.

Often this is caused when accessing the Internet on a wireless router. During a file transfer even the shortest disconnect can cause the transfer to drop. If the connection is being dropped and your file upload is continuously coming to a hault, try a hardwire connection to the Internet.

It depends on the size and format of the file.

I depends on your local Internet connection, the memory on your computer, and the size of the video file you are uploading.

If you can see the files listed on the right side, but the arrow in the middle of the screen is not highlighted or cannot be clicked to transfer the file this probably means your Java needs to be updated. And/or the button at the bottom of the uploader applet/screen indicates that you are not connected to the server and you cannot transfer your files you need to upgrade your Java software.

Consider the quality of the network you are using and make sure enough bandwidth is available. Most broadband connections such as cable and dsl are large enough now to support streaming video. If bandwidth is limited -- contact techsupport and we may be able to reconvert your videos into a smaller format (support@evirx.com)

We highly recommend a digital videocamera that stores the videos on a hard drive in the camera (eg, , Flip, Sony and JVC make a good quality version). You may also upload videos from mobile phones and digital cameras. We do not recommend DVD, VHS, Hi8 or other outdated formats. They will require more work and technical expertise of the user. However, you may upload a video file from any camera and we will convert it for you.

Your video file is probably being converted by the server. If the video does not appear in your collection after a couple of hours please send an email to support@evirx.com stating that you uploaded a file. We will complete the conversion and upload for you. You will receive an email when it's complete.
